Middle Tennessee Businesses and Professionals Recognized for their Excellence
NASHVILLE, TN / January 2018 – Best in Business Award Association announced 19 recipients of its 2018 award today for the Middle Tennessee region. Quality, integrity, trust and experience are the cornerstones of this prestigious award, which recognizes excellence for businesses and professionals.
Recipients of the award are Closets by Design, Creekside at Three Rivers & Creekside Villas, Crescent Carpets, Fly Away Airport Parking, Franklin Iron Works, Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, Granite Transformations, HomeTown Lenders, John Maher Builders, Kirkland’s Pest Control, Lithographics, Mr. Enclosure, Regions Bank, Roscoe Brown, Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Susan Gregory of PARKS Realty, Ted R. Sanders Moving & Warehouse, The Tennessean and WGFX 104.5 “The Zone”.
Recently local consumers participated in an on-line survey and nominated businesses and professionals they felt were worthy of the distinction, “Best in Business”. Once the results were compiled and tabulated, Best in Business Award Association began an extensive selection process. Each nominee first had to demonstrate a satisfactory rating with the local Better Business Bureau, a prerequisite of the program. Next, the owner or officer of the nominated business was required to participate in an assessment interview with Best in Business Award. Topics ranging from experience and hiring practices of their employees to liability insurance coverage and customer service procedures were discussed, just to name a few. The final step in the selection process was to gauge a nominee’s overall reputation in the community among their peers. For instance, insurance companies were asked which roofing contractors and collision repair shops are on their preferred list. Home inspectors were questioned about the craftsmanship quality of area homebuilders. General contractors were asked which subcontractors have a dependable track record, and state medical board inquiries were made regarding particular physicians, etc.
“Selecting an exceptional slate of recipients for our award was time consuming and required us to be thorough,” said John Gaylor of Best in Business Award. “And allowing local consumers to
take part in the process also gave us a credible point of reference from which to begin our search.” Gaylor went on to say, “One of our Best in Business Award recipients has been providing college scholarships to local high school senior scholar athletes for the last 14 years. Many of our recipients’ companies are family run and multi-generational…one of which has been
in business since 1895. A number of our recipients serve on local and state boards in their respective fields, and others have an international presence in the workforce. These are just a few examples of why consumers should feel confident when they call upon our recipients…they can do so with the assurance that these are businesses and professionals worthy of this notable distinction.”
