Dental Practice

Serving the Tennessee Valley since 2011, Flint River Dental’s experienced team offers a range of services. Whether you need routine dental cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, dental implants, root canals or sedation dentistry, they do it all!

Dr. Meghan Darby, the founding dentist of the practice, is a graduate of Mississippi State University and received her B.S. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Later she proudly served in the United States Air Force, where she graduated from a rigorous Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Eglin AFB in Florida. Dr. Darby is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning this distinction takes dedication and a great deal of dental continuing education – over 500 hours in her case. To put this into its proper perspective, only 6% of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows.

Dr. Amy Heusinger joined the practice in 2021. A graduate from UAB School of Dentistry, she has a particular specialty in prosthodontics. Creating custom work flows and plans for her patients are things Dr. Amy really finds rewarding.

Both dentists are Huntsville natives and each graduated from Sparkman High School. And fitness is their passion! As such, they both enjoy working out and hiking the beautiful trails across the Southeast during their down time.

According to Dr. Darby, “One of our core values is Margins for Mission. In short, we create profit for mission work in our community.” To that end, Dr. Darby actively volunteers at the free dental clinic, frequently serves with her family at the Downtown Rescue Mission and has gone on a number of mission trips abroad.
