National Home Inspections, the first contractor of its kind in Middle Georgia, was founded by Ned Dominick in 1978. At the time, Ned was restoring historic properties in Macon’s Intown Victorian Historic Districts. Home prices were skyrocketing, and he saw the need for thorough property evaluations before consumers made such a huge investment.

Over the years Ned added a couple of other inspectors to join his team. Each had long backgrounds in construction-related fields, and each was personally trained by Ned himself.

One of those inspectors, Chris Higdon, now owns National Home Inspections. And even though Ned recently retired, Chris says, “we still provide the same quality service and A to Z inspections Middle Georgians have come to expect.” According to Higdon, “It’s important to us that Ned’s standards are maintained and that his legacy remains intact.”
